So what has gone on in this last month exciting for Whimsical Lily Boutique?? Well we are busy working on our spring/ summer collection for the little whimsical girls in your life plus we are going to be restructing our website because we will be removing some goodies and improving on goodies that we already offer. We hope to reveil all of the new offerings by Mid-April beginning of May. How does the old saying go... April Showers bring May Flowers. We hope that we are able to brighten up your summer.

Since we are now into winter, I have added a few more scarves to the site as well as some necklaces for our little Princesses and another awesome hand crochet handbag.

Look for the addition of apparel collections to land on our site soon. We are sure you will dig our new apparel collection. We have fused hand dyed natural fiber with trendy clothing designs to make our one of a kind clothing and more!

what type of roving it was and where I purchased the roving from. LOL I got the roving from RowanTree Woolery. The roving is Rambouillet and it's really soft, easy to spin and they have awesome prices. I really like the dark chocolate that is shown on my drop spindle. I just placed another order for 1lb (white) and 2oz (dark chocolate) with them because I really liked the feel of it. So I will be getting a few fluffy packages this week. LOL I also have coming some Romney (2ozs because I have heard this is a little rough) and Corriedale Cross (14ozs) rovings for a total of 2lbs. Can you say this is just as addicting as buying yarn?? I know that isn't a lot compared to some but this is only the beginning....

This happens...

The yarns that you see in the above picture are handspun by myself. Who knew? LOL I was introduced to spinning and weaving back in 1999 but never really paid much attention to it as that is when my mother first started. Little did I know that I would in essence one day spin my own yarn. LOL I will not lie my first attempts were gastly but after resisting it and finally spinning seriously for the last few months I am proud to say that I have gotten the hang of it now. It's really quite addicting to tell you the truth. Now I am always on the lookout for quality roving when I am on eBay.

I have actually been thinking about adding these beauties to the site. Well not these plain ones of course. LOL I mean more pretty colorful ones in bulky and worsted weight. All of the above are worsted weight. I guess I could make 2 ply bulky weight. I also have some other craft goodies that I know that I will not be using and instead of me hording them, I know there is probably some crafty mama out there that could put them to good use and give them a good home. Bottle caps anyone?? LOL I have them in various colors.. I thought that I was going to add bottlecap necklaces to my site but I can't figure out how to add a hole in them without a dremel and yes I tried the nail and hammer bit and it never worked for me. So I don't know what to do with them.

Speaking of crocheting, I will be adding some new scarves to the site that I am finishing up right now tonight hopefully but tomorrow for sure. So stay tuned....

After almost a month with our site having server outages and changes, Whimsical Lily Boutique is finally back online. It has been one stressful month but all the stress has paid off as I like the new layout and the ease of use. We have added a lot of new goodies!!! Check out our cool new accessories. We will be adding more over the next couple of days... more scarves for both girls and women, cell phone pouches and felt wallets. We will also be adding some other goodies too. We are slowly but surely adding our newest products to the site. It has been a slow process but I am happy with the results. We will continue adding more goodies throughout the week to hopefully be finished by Thursday but Friday for sure. We will be running a sale until Dec.16th which is also the last day to get your orders in before Christmas!

After what seems like our site has been down forever, I am happy to say that we will be re-opening on Monday Nov. 28th!! Thanks to a couple of friends running different tests on their computers using different browsers to see how it loads and what not. I will have to say that this has proved to be a daunting task as I am attempting something a little different but I keep telling myself that in the end it will be cool.

Here is what to expect when we re-open: new crochet goodies, clothing, bath & body treats and also our introduction of "S & W Accoutrements" pet goody line!! We will also have a little holiday shopping guide for those easy gift giving! Be sure to stay tuned for our re-opening!!

I am soo frustrated with my website provider at this point. My site is down once again. But to make matters worse is that their site is also down so I don't know what's going on there. I think i will have to change my website provider because this is happening way tooo much. This is not cool at all. I think I will do some serious investigation and see what I can find out. Hopefully there is just a glitch and they didn't have time to notify their customers. Keeping my fingers crossed as I will have to redo my shopping cart and everything all over again. Arrrggghhh!!!!!

Change in focus....

Due to some unforeseen circumstances it is with a heavy heart that we will no longer offering custom clothing. The clothing on our site will now be size specific. We have also changed the sizes that we will offer as well. We will be focusing on little girl's sizes 12mos - 8! In the future we may begin doing custom orders as well as spread our sizing but for now we will stick with these sizes.

Why am I no longer doing custom orders on clothing you ask? Well as much as I loved doing custom orders, I feel as if I unable to devote the necessary time needed to them and I don't think that is fair to you the customer. So now when you see our clothing up on the site they will be shipped out within 3 business days and also One of A Kind. We want your little girl to be an individual and unique as possible. So I have closed that portion of my site until I begin to add the new clothing.

I am happy to report that we have begun to add our line of bath & body products to the site. We have added our line of lip gloss called Lily Kisses™ which is available in 3 scrumptiously sweet scents and our Pink Sugar Bath Parfait, our alternative to conventional body wash. We hope to add some more of our bath parfaits as well as our Lily Salts™ and Whimsy Body Balm™ sometime over the weekend.

Oops I almost forgot to mention that we will also be adding 2 hand crochet doggie sweaters. I just need to take decent pictures of them first. These doggie sweaters are suitable for little dogs (i.e. chihuahuas, daschunds, toy poodles, etc.) you know for the smaller breeds. Actually our whole line of doggie accessories are geared toward the smaller breeds.

I also wanted to note that our business email account is down and has been since Thursday afternoon sometime. Our host is trying to figure out what happened but it still isn't working so if you would like to reach us you can send us email here. Thanks for your understanding.

Over the next couple of weeks you will see some new goodies being added to Whimsical Lily Boutique right in time for holiday shopping. I am really excited because I have a couple of designs that I am working on for our furry friends. No we don't have any of our own as our house has allergies and asthma but when I was a little girl I did have a Black Lab named Shadow and a Black Cat named Wiggie. So I am going back to those times when I had my animals and making some goodies for other peoples furbabies. I have decided to name the line that is dedicated to my old friends... "Shadow and Wiggie Accoutrements™" or "S & W Accoutrements™". I loved those animals. I had them from the time I was 5 until I was 13, so they hold a dear spot in my heart. Now that my oldest is 5 and wants a puppy, I am thinking about it even though we have these allergies. Maybe she might get a small, short haired one for Christmas... I don't know yet. I already have 3 children plus a Husband. ;o)

Plus we will be adding some accessories too for girls and women. Not to mention that we will finally be adding some bath & body goodies and clutches to the site. We had clutches up on the old site but haven't added them back as I was re-working the pattern but I will be adding those to the site also.

Yay!!! I am finally getting our "shelves" filled with awesome goodies for not only girls and women but for our furry little friends too. Hey our pets deserve to be just as chic as theur companions.

I haven't quite finish restoring all of our products but most of them are there and the cart looks good. It is almost 4 a.m. so I better hit the hay because I will need to get back up in less than 3.5 hours to get dd off to school and finish adding the rest of our goodies. I will have to say that I think this was a blessing in disguise as I have changed the site up a bit. I gave a facelift and I really like how it turned out. Well I can't see straight any longer. Aaaaarrrggghhhh! Our Website Crashed!!!

Yep the unthinkable has happened. I logged on this evening to find that our website crashed sometime over the last 24 hours. It really is upsetting to see this happen. I could cry right now but I don't have the time as I need to upload the site back. I hope to have us back on line by morning. I guess I will be pulling an all nighter to ensure that we are up and running again. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause. Hurray for Lily Wrap Baby Carriers!!!!

Today I wore one of our Lily Wrap Carriers that was made of unbleached cotton birdseye pique fabric and it was wonderful!! I had never used a wrap carrier before today for any length of time and I decided since I had to do some running around that I would go ahead and give it a try. I LOVE IT!!! It was a lot less stressful on my body than a ring sling would have been. My 5 month old, 26lbs little monster can get heavy quick but I was able to walk around with him in the wrap carrier for over an hour and half and I didn't feel a thing. Did I already mention that I love it!!! I am soo happy that I decided to go ahead and give this type of carrier a try. I guess I decided to try it out because my other two weren't as heavy as he is when they were his age. He is my biggest by far!!!

Here is an example of the Lily Wrap Baby Carrier except this one is made with unbleached 100% cotton muslin.

Didn't go as planned...

I am a little sad as I wanted to add my new stuff this weekend but it didn't go as planned. Between me trying to figure out how to make my shopping cart automatically open up when my domain name is punched in and my dh deciding that he wanted to go off and play with his buddies, that cut into my picture taking, description making and listing time. So I have to delay adding the new stuff a couple of days. I am really sad but what can I do right?? So here are some of the things I hope to add. Once they are added I will cross them off of my list. ;o)

* Add 3 Hemp Muslin Slings (1 Lily Tai, 1 Lily Pouch and 1 Lily Ring Sling) these are all natural in color. I hope to be able to offer them in various hand dyed colors but I am still working out the specifics on that. I have decided after talking with a friend that I will go ahead and offer the ring slings. I wasn't sure that I wanted to at first but I have decided I might as well offer a variety for those who like ring slings.

* 2 boutique sets

* 3 apron & chef's hat sets

* 3 nursing covers

* A cute set for mom ;o)

Wow after loking at that it sure will take me a few ays to add everything. LOL

Great gift for mom-to-be....

or any mommy for that matter!!! We have been working on some new goodies for us ladies and I happy to say that after much blood, sweat and tears.... Okay no blood really but much sweat and tears. I did cry after the first time my husband made a comment on my baby sling that I got when our oldest was 3 months about it looking like a quilt/ blanket. Needless to say that I have been using my "quilt/ blanket" for over 5 years on our 3 children... He even makes sure to have the sling in the car for me. LOL

Now I want to give a gift to those ladies who want to wear their babies but without the bulk and high price. I love my very first sling that I got oh those years ago and I still use it to this day but the colors left something to be desired and the price was a bit much. If you are anything like me you want to have alternatives for those times when you want to dress up and the sling doesn't quite match or you want the sling to be chic & stylish and it's not. I am finally able to say that I have enough experience wearing a baby carrier and seeing the benefits that babywearing has had on my own children that I designed a couple that even my husband enjoys. Now let's not get crazy, he won't wear it because it goes against his ego but he likes the look nonetheless. ;o)

Without further ado, I proud to announce the addition of our "Lily Tai" & "Lily Pouch" baby carriers. After people asking whenever I go out with our little ones and receiving many compliments, we are now offering baby carriers for those moms like myself who have to juggle more than one little one around. We have two designs that we are offering in stylish and attractive prints for mom plus for those little ones who like to be like mom and carry their "babies" around we have slings for them too.

Our "Lily Tai" Baby Carriers are inspired by the traditional Chinese Mei Tai (Asian Baby Carriers). I think these are my favorite slings to be totally honest with you. It is really helpful when you 5 month old wants to be held and your 2 year old wants you to get him some juice. Sound familiar to anyone???

Our "Lily Pouches" are simple and convenient. No straps or rings to mess with. Just put the sling over your shoulder and place the baby inside and you're good to go.

over at Whimsical Lily Boutique! We will be adding some new goodies over the next couple of weeks. More bags, boutique sets, hairbows and imaginary play goodies. We will also be introducting our bath & body products and our women's clothing line as well. I am soo excited but exhausted at the same time. LOL Take a look at the new jewelry that we have recently added. I think my favorites are these amethyst and crystal birthstone dangle earrings.

I guess I am biased as purple is my favorite color. ;o) But the only birthstones that are represented in my household are emerald and ruby. My husband, 2 sons and myself are May babies and our daughter is a July baby. So even though there are 5 of us, we only account for two birthstone months.

We are soo happy how this set came out. Nope it's not your usual boutique set at all. This is more for playtime or imaginary play. Do you have alittle cook in the making. But here is the one that we just custom made for a little girl's 2nd birthday. Isn't it too cute??!!

Breast Cancer Awareness

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month we have decided to donate a portion of our website sales to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. We have made some special goodies that we will donate 20% of sales from those and the rest of our items we will donate 10% of sales from them. Yep with the season's changing I am happy to say that I am now ready to bring my "Crochet Chic" Collection back to Whimsical Lily Boutique. This past summer I had soo much fun making the crochet tanks and halters with matching hats that I couldn't wait to start making my ponchos and other crochet goodies but with it being in the 100's it was really hard to get into fall/ winter crocheting with it sweltering out. So I am glad that the weather has changed somewhat and motivated me to start to crochet again.

We have been busy making new goodies for our site that I have been once again neglecting my blog. Shame on me. LOL Well I just wanted to give yopu a sneak peek of another new design that we will be adding to our new website.

My daughter helped design this outfit down to the color of the fabrics and the added "sparklies". I am soo proud of her. I really like how the outfit came out too. She will be wearing her's to school today. LOL

The switch over to the new website host was successful. I am happy to say that we are back up and running. No I haven't added the new goodies yet. I just found out that there was a problem with my shopping cart which I am glad that it was pointed out to me because it was trying to overcharge drastically. I have since fixed the problem but I am going to be using a different shopping cart when I reveal the new goodies. I think this will be better in the long run because it take cares of inventory in real time, so now I don't have to worry about people over buying on anything.

Website moving to new server

Well I had to move my website to a new server because I wasn't happen with the current host. So my site is temporarily down until it propgates across the web. Hopefully it will be back up some time tomorrow. I tried to do it over the weekend to avod having the down time but it was inevitable so I just have to deal with it.

We do have some new stuff that we will be adding to the site later on this week. Actually we will be revealing a new site with some new stuff really soon. :o) I have been working hard at getting the perfect feel for the site and it sure does take a lot of effort but I want it to be just right not mediocre. Caterpillars & Toadstools...

will be getting some design photos added to the website. I am soo excited after my long and hard search my Hubby helped me pick out the perfect print fabrics for the button down shirts. He has such great taste. ;o) I don't want to show you just yet. I want to actually complete them and then add a little photo montage. We have 4 different prints and also a pair of corduroy cargo pants and courduroy shorts. I am also working on corudroy and denim jackets. I will get these designs finsihed if I have to pull all nighter for the rest of the week. LOL Okay not really. I will get them finished though. That's all I just wanted to share how happy I am to finally have the perfect fabric. ;o)

Whimsical Lily Boutique is doing some expanding. We have divided our offerings into a few different divisions. Each of our divisions have a different specialization that will appeal to different audiences. We felt that this would be better for both us as the designer/ manufacturer/ retailer and you as the consumer. You will be able to go straight to the site of your choice. The good thing about this is that all of the sites share the same shopping cart for one consolidated purchase which eliminates the need for making 2 and/or 3 different transactions.

Whimsical Lily Boutique offers our girls & women's boutique clothing, funky hairbows and stylish handbags. We will soon launch our women's yoga line. We just finished up a few of our tank tops that we will be offering. There will be a total of 6 different sayings/designs available. Currently the tanks will be available in black, white and possibly ballet pink cotton jersey knit. I am still deciding on what other colors I would like to offer them in. We are also offering cotton jersey knit yoga pants in the same matching colors. I am plan to offer my yoga line in hemp and/ or organic cotton knit once I am sure of the supplier I will post. I want to make sure that they are getting their fabrics from ethical fair trade manufacturers.

Currently in production is our princess line of room decor. We have a few cutesy little designs from our chenille initial pillows to monogrammed pillowcases to chenille & satin blankets, we are sure that we fill would make any little girl feel like a princess. We are also working on complete bedding sets which we expect for our bedding line to launch on our site by September 15th. If we are lucky it might just happen before, keeping my fingers crossed.

The first of our two newest divisions is Caterpillars & Toadstools . This is our brand of stylish little boys clothing ranging from size 12 mos to 7 years. We felt there is a need for more stylish designs than what is already currently being offered for our little guys. So we have been working diligently on our designs and picking out just the right fabric to represent our ideas. Our plan to officially open and launch Caterpillars & Toadstools is September 1st.

And the second division is Whimsical Feet. What is Whimsical Feet you ask?? It is our brand of soft soled shoes for babies & toddlers ranging from newborn to 6 years. Why are Whimsical Feet soft sole shoes different than all the rest?? They are created with the vegan/vegetarian family in mind. Being the mother of a vegetarian family, I know how hard it is to get cute soft sole shoes for our little ones that aren't made of leather. So about a year and half ago I began designing soft sole shoes using synthetic man made materials because I feel that we should also be able to have our little ones reap the benefits of wearing soft sole shoes.

Ok I am excited because we have some new goodies that we will be adding to the site tonight. Take a peek at what we will be adding. :o)

Over the next couple of days we will be completeing our collection by adding a twirl skirt, rhinestone embellished tees, a shirred top/ dress, velour pants and bloomers. Our girls collection (ranging from size 2T- tween/teen size 14/16) has grown by leaps and bounds. Well my Hubby will be leaving me with the kids instead of staying home on his off day or taking the older two with him which I had planned on him doing one of those two options, I had to tailor what I acutally wanted to accomplish today. It's really hard trying to sew when my two little boys (3mos and 2yo) who are wanting to be picked up all the time. I am grateful for my 5yo little Princess because she is sooo helpful. She tries to keep her little brothers occupied whilst mommy works. I love her to bits!!!

Okay here are the things that I want to make today and hopefully get pictured so I can put them up on the site.

3 pairs of Hairbows
3 Crystal Beaded Barrettes

I did want to make a couple of things for the Caterpillars & Toadstools line too. I have some black and white tropical fabric that I think would look good as a button down shirt. So I want to make a button down shirt with some matching black corduroy pants. Add thar too the home page so you can see a sampling of what we will be pffering instead of just words.

A lot is going on over at Whimsical Lily Boutique. Check out new homepage where we are showcasing some of our Back to School/ Fall 2005 Collection. We used yummy cotton velours, crisp corduroys, trendy cotton knit and woven fabrics. The break that we took over the summer has definately given me a new outlook on where I would like my designs to be and go from here.

We offer coordinating separates so you can mix and match the pieces you want to make the perfect outfit. The designs are trendy yet contemporary enough for my mom to be able to wear them to work or out on the town. We are proud of our awesome acessories line featuring funky boutique hair bows, crystal barettes, beaded jewelry and fabulous handbags.

We are still working hard behind the scenes to get our site back up and running. Testing out our shopping cart and making sure that all images, links and so forth work. We are also working hard on our boy's line and site, Caterpillars & Toadstools, where we offer clothing for little boys who want to dress their best. The sizes offered in our Caterpillars & Toadstools line is up to size 7 in boys. So stay tuned for more updates and our Grand Re-opening.

Whimsical Lily Boutique currently has some new designs in the works for Mom and the Home. We are really excited about our mother clothing, accessories and home lines that are currently in the works. We hope to debut them in the near future.

Why do our little princesses always gt to have soo much fun. Since I love having my little girl look good, there is no reason why I can't dress in Shabby Chic couture clothing as well.
